GoMetro is excited to release the new look and feel of their Mobile site: www.gometro.co.za!
Recently, GoMetro completely rebuilt their site, incorporating a host of new features to make life easier for commuters. Features including:
MyCiti bus, ReaVaya bus and Gauteng rapid rail schedules.
Log in with Facebook.
Users now have the ability to save their frequently traveled routes and access them on the main menu with the selection of one button.
Profiles have been improved, giving users the ability to upload their own icon and personalize the experience.
The “Go / No Go” system was implemented, allowing users to inform others if the line they are using is on schedule or late / delayed.
Users have the ability to comment on these updates from others and communicate with their fellow commuters, receiving email notifications when others commented on their updates.
The latest feature we added was the “email my boss” feature for the Western Cape and Gauteng, which enables a user to send their employer an email that helps prove their train was delayed or cancelled. The user selects the line he uses to travel to work and the email will direct the employer to the “line updates” for that line, so the employer can see for himself the status of the trains.
After receiving feedback from our awesome users via Facebook, Twitter, email and live user interviews, we implemented changes to the site to better the user experience and make GoMetro much easier to use. The greatest change we made now, was to reduce the amount of interaction required to see schedules:
Now, to see your schedule, all you have to do is type the name of the starting Station/Bus stop and the ending station/Bus stop. When you press the “Go” button, you will see different options to get you to your destination, using different train and bus combinations, so you can see the quickest route. To see the schedule for a different day or time, simply select the “Leaving Later?” button, select the day and time you want to take the trip.
Another new feature is the “Nearby” button on the main menu. When you select this button, GoMetro will show you the stops or stations closest to you and give you an estimated distance from your location. You can use this feature to help you navigate quickly, or to see when you are getting close to your destination.
We are sure everyone will enjoy using GoMetro’s new look and feel. Please send us feedback as soon as possible if you find any bugs on the site. Please also provide us with your valuable opinion on how we can continue to improve GoMetro.
